Summary

February 2024 was a busy month with 136 clients accessing the service. Of this 136, 34 were new clients to Saoirse and accessed the service through the screening process. 6 clients were family members, 7 clients were gamblers, and 1 client was a gaming client. 102 clients were linked in from the previous month.

Of the 34 clients that presented in the month to Saoirse through the screening process – 19 were male and 15 were female. 1 of the 34 new clients was 15 to 18, 3 between 18 and 25 years of age, 14 between 26 and 35 years of age, 10 between 36 and 50 years of age and 6 between and 51 and 80.

Drug of Choice

In the month, the clients presenting were predominately Alcohol dependant. Of the drugs of choice 11 presented with alcohol, 4 with Cocaine, 2 with Prescription Medication and 1 each with Benzodiazepine, Cannabis and Heroin.  Of those that presented new to Saoirse 14 of them used other substances, the most common being Alcohol (5).

Saoirse One to One counselling – In the month of February 2024 there were 217 face to face and telework one to ones.
